Be back soon! It just depends on your definition of soon

I'll be honest. It's been a rough couple of weeks for me, and I've been able to focus less and less on this, which I feel bad about. So, I'm gonna take a little break, get some stuff done, move some stuff around, and then revisit this whole website thing again. But, before I go.....

For me to go on at length about what "Rowdy"Roddy Piper meant to me would take a LOT of time. So, for now, I'll simply say Thank you, Hot Rod!

Hot Girl Wednesday starring...KENDRA LUST!!!

Okay, we're in the final two weeks of my trip to Exxxotica last month, and these final two weeks are gonna be REALLY good! First up, is someone who's made more of a name for herself in just 3 years in the business than anyone I can remember. You know her, you love her...

It's KENDRA LUST!!!!! Talk about a shooting star!! She started in the business just THREE years ago, since then she's been in industry, she's been over 100 scenes and titles! That is AMAZING!!! You know what else was amazing? She was. She took the time to speak with each and everyone of her fans, and in something I've NEVER seen before, she waited until each FAN was done talking to her to thank them and make sure they got their picture taken with her if they wanted. I've never seen anyone that generous with their time. A total sweetheart. IF you ever get the chance to meet her, you better do it. Here comes the fun part; you can (and totally should) check out her official website. You can also follow her on Twitter and Instagram. Or, you can visit her official website and sign up! Oh, wait, I almost forgot:

Hot Girl Wednesday Starring...PHOENIX MARIE!!!!

Phoenix Marie came onto the scene in 2007, and the industry hasn't been the same since. She first....you know what? If you DON'T know who Phoenix Marie is you're lying and we're not friends. Anyway, here's some pics of one of my all time FAVORITES!!!!

Now, there's NO shortage of Phoenix Marie. She's got her own website, a Twitter, and an Instagram. A few weeks ago, I ran into her, for the second time, and honestly, she is SO nice in person. If she's ever appearing anywhere or doing a signing, do yourself a big big favor and go. She is a BLAST!!!!

Because illusion is STILL the ultimate weapon!!

It looks like I'm getting something off my San Diego Wishlist after all!!!...I just didn't get it at San Diego. That's okay, beggars can't be choosers, right? It turns out that yesterday, on their 2nd quarter financial call, Hasbro revealed a few new properties that they'll be unveiling. The thing is, some of them weren't NEW new, just new to today's audience. There was Action Man, Micronauts (don't worry, I promise you I'm gonna get to them!), and very surprisingly..MASK.
-I know some of you are saying "Wait, Jimmy. I have NO clue what MASK is." That's OK. The 80's were a crowded place, and so was syndication. Depending on where you lived, you might never have had the chance to watch MASK. And, depending on where you went in the toy aisle, you might never have seen MASK toys. The concept, in a nutshell, was kinda like GI Joe and Transformers had a baby. And they had wicked cool masks that could do awesome things. MASK stood for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand. A GI Joe-like group of good guy;s who fought against the evil forces of VENOM. They each had their own specialty and they each had their own individual masks that did different things. Everything from lifting impossibly heavy stuff to send out super strong waves of sound. As if this wasn't cool enough, they each had vehicles that transformed in different vehicles! Like a motorcycle that changed into a helicopter, a jeep that changed into a high-speed boat, and much more! Seriously, this franchise had everything a boy thought was cool. Even an R2-D2 like robot that talked and changed into a scooter!!
-Rumors of a MASK comeback have been floating around for awhile now, and have actually recently heated-up, with Hasbro reps dropping hints, Hasbro renewing their trademark on the brand, and some other clues have dropped here and there. If you look at it, it makes sense. Some of the most popular figures for Hasbro right now are their 2.5 inch action figures:

-And these would be the PERFECT size for new MASK figures and Vehicles. The price point wouldn't be super expensive, and parents wouldn't freak out about buying a 6 inch toy and a 12-15 inch vehicle to put it in. So yeah, I can totally see this being the new size for a MASK line.

-In addition to toys, I really hope we get a new comic. IDW is doing an AMAZING job with their current Hasbro comics; Transformers, GI Joe, Jem & The Holograms, and I really think a MASK comic would be a pretty solid home run for them, both creatively and sales-wise. I'd also love to see a new cartoon, but I don't have much hope for that. Unless you have a network like FX or Fox or on a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu, you don't have much of a chance. Cartoon Network is so erratic, their ADD has ADD. It's impossible to follow a show on that Network without the use of a DVR, and that ultimately leads to quick and absolute failure. Hasbro does have it's own streaming service on Roku and Apple TV and other TV watching devices. The least they could do would be to put up old episodes on that, because the MASK theme song is just too good to not be heard!!!

San Diego catch up!!!

It's all over, and everyone's pretty much settled down, so it's time to look at some of the San Diego Comic Con stuff that was awesome, and that you're going to be hearing a lot about from me in coming month. Enough rambling, let's get down to business. In NO particular order at all:

Sheena/Tarzan crossover: That's right, Dynamite acquired the right to Sheena Queen of the Jungle and is kick off her arrival by teaming her up with Tarzan Lord of the Jungle!!! I have to admit, I'm SUPER surprised that this team-up didn't take place years ago, but I think it's gonna be super fun to read. And, you guys know that I can't mention Tarzan without including a YouTube video of one of my favorite cartoons ever. Filmation's 1980's Tarzan cartoon! Enjoy:

JAMES BOND!!!! Wow, HOW long did we have to wait for this? Too long, in my opinion! Dynamite announced that they had acquired the license awhile ago, but had been playing coy for quite some time about when the book would launch and what the creative team would be. Well, the wait is over and the new Bond comic will be brought to us by writer Warren Ellis and artist Jason Masters. While you all know I'm not the biggest Warren Ellis fan out there, I really think this book is going to be a home run. You can read a great interview with Dynamite Senior Editor Joe Rybandt right here.

Thundercats!: OUTTA NOWHERE Mattel announced that they would be producing a line of Thundercats figures in scale with their Masters of the Universe Classic figures! Yes, these are the figures that we've been waiting for.

Ghostbusters: 2016 is gonna be a big year for Ghostbusters. And hey, I'm not even talking about the new film! We're going to get a NEW on-going Ghostbusters series from Erick Burnham and Dan Schoening,(and an annual this fall), but wait, there's more! Diamond Select is doing Ghostbusters figures of everybody from the first film, and I. MEAN. EVERYBODY! OK, no Larry King figure, but who knows? Stranger things have happened!...ok, not really.

Back to the Future: An honest to God, movie related, Back to the Future comic book! What's even better? It's co-written by Back to the Future co-creator (and no stranger to comics himself) Bob Gale and Erik Burnham, with art by Dan Schoening!!! I don't think there's anything you could want more from a Back to the Future comic.

Atari Force: Dynamite Entertainment is going to republish the DC Atari Force series, and they're doing new comics based on Atari properties. I'm hoping, with maybe some strong sales and some letter writing, we can get them to launch a brand new Atari Force series!

OK, I'm running outta steam with this post. There's a lot of :honorable mentions" that I wanted to make, but you'll see them later in the year (and next year) as they come closer. Let's get to the money shot:

ROM/The Micronauts: NOBODY saw this coming. NOBODY. Not even me. About 2 second after it was announced at the Hasbro panel, this image hit the internet:
We all know how much this meant to IDW's Chris Ryall, and frankly, there is NO WAY that I could be happier for him. I've known Chris for a long time, and I know how hard he's worked to get ROM and believe me, to call this a labor or love would be THE understatement of all time. There's a little life lesson hidden in this one-hard work, determination and passion PAY OFF.
-As much as for Chris, this is a dream come true for me as well. I've always been a huge fan of both properties, and to get the chance to sell these books is just incredible. I truly never thought that it would happen.

So, consider this a preview of the things to come here. I'll be covering/reviewing/promoting all of these things, and many more, in the months to come. You think you've seen electrifying before? You ain't seen nothin' yet, baby!!!!!!
