The Superior Spider-Man #11: SPOILER WARNING FOR ISSUE #10! Now that Doc Ock/Spidey is 100% Parker-Free, it's time for "Spock" to go on an all out rampage right? No. Not really. Instead, he comes to the defense of New York City and Mayor J. Jonah Jameson when the Spider-Slayer gets loose and "rehabs" a couple of old Spider-Villains.
The Good: Although the "Spock" routine is getting more than a little old, there are still some entertaining bits and chuckles that are coming out of it. I don't know why, but Ock as Peter going to school for his Doctorate studying under his old rival always gets me. So, hats off for that.
The Bad: All right, for being 100% Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man's clothing, Doc Ock is acting pretty darn heroic. Now, I don't want to spoil the issue, but in this issue, there are a LOT of heroic things going on. And yes, I know that he now knows the "great power/great responsibility" thing, but he's still DOCTOR OCTOPUS!!!
The Verdict: Pass. Bottom line, it's really not that great of an issue and it might be better read in trade.
