Indiana Jones and the NEW MOVIE!!!

Today, is a good day. I mean a REALLY good day. In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy anounced plans for another Indiana Jones film!!! To quote her exactly:

“will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

-We've heard Disney chief Alan Horn mention Indy before, but this is the first confirmation that a film WILL one day happen and, at least, is currently being talked about. Now, before you start with the complaints about casting and who's going to direct it, and whether it'll be a relaunch or a reboot or anything else, take a minute and just appreciate that we're getting a new movie. In my head, I'm all ready in line (are there even lines anymore, with online ticket purchases?), I'm all ready clearing out space for new toys, buying new t-shirts, going to McDonalds for Happy Meal toys and everything else that goes into a great big blockbuster movie. Including comic books!!!! Now, in the coming months, I'll be talking a LOT about Indiana Jones. But, not here........................

                                                                        to be continued

  1. I'm excited about this too . . . which brings me to another rant about the movie business . . .

WHY do we have to do a full reboot each time we get a new cast? Why can't it just be another great Indy adventure story. The original concept was to have a great story and invoke some of the old serials of the 30s along with great adventure books. Why do we have to go back and try to retell stories already told?

We get a new artist on Batman - the look changes by nature. It just does. If Darwyn Cooke draws a Batman one-shot, they don't have to reboot things because his style is different from the regular artist. Why do we need to reboot because of an age or face change? I'm looking at you Spider-Man. Or Superman. Or .
