What you should buy-04/10/13

While there's plenty to buy this week, I'm a little under the weather and grumpy so, you're getting the short short version. Here it is!

What I thought of...Star Wars #4

A less awesome issue than normal, but still awesome. I have to say, though, Carlos D'Anda is REALLY good. I mean really REALLY REALLY good.
The Good: The good parts in this issue are REALLY good. A TON of mysteries are set up in this issue, and I really can't wait to see just how they're paid off. Brian Wood has really just thrown a lot of continuity out the window. Actually, he hasn't. He's just decided not to use it.
The Bad: There's a lot of things that confuse me in this issue. For one, basically the whole rebel plot line. The traitor story line seems to have almost been abandoned. Yeah, there was some scratching my head moments in this issue, and, some parts that just flat out bored me.
The Verdict: Even an off issue of this title is still a great comic. Grab it! And send me an email after you're read it. There's a couple things that I need explained to me!

I was very sad today to learn of the passing of the great Carmine Infantino. He was one of my favorite artists of all time, bar none. His influences in comics are both legendary and immeasurable. He, with writer Robert Kanigher, ushered in the Silver Age of comics with The Flash #123 in 1961. Giving birth to the DC Universe that the world, at large, is familiar with. Here are some of my favorite Infantino covers, but I don't really think he ever did a bad one.

Lt. Uhura is a Guardian of the Galaxy!!!!

Word broke yesterday of Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Avatar) has nabbed the female lead role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie!!! For those of you that aren't familiar with the character, here's a brief description:

Created by Jim Starlin in 1975, Gamora is the adopted daughter of cosmic baddie (and Avengers 2 villian) Thanos! She's got super human strength and agility and an accelerated healing factor. She's been a member of the United Front, the Phalanx, The Infinity Watch and of course, The Guardians of the Galaxy.
-If casted, Saldana will join Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista in the movie, which is being directed by James Gunn and opens on August 1 of next year.
-And yes, I would pay $10 to see this girl

The Adventures of Superman by Jose Luiis Garcia Lopez-Garcia Lopez is one of my all time favorite artists. This is some of his BEST work!

Miss Fury #1-Brand new Pulp title from Dynamite!

GI Joe Special Missions #2-Chuck Dixon + Paul Gulacy =BUY THIS!

Green Arrow #19-This book is SOOOO good now!!

Lone Ranger #14-GREAT Stand alone story!!

Superior Spider-Man #7-Spidey's got some explaining to do-TO THE AVENGERS!!!!!

15 Days of GI Joe-Day 16!!!

Thanks to a $132 worldwide opening, Paramount is moving forward on GI Joe 3!!! How awesome is that?!?!?!? I'm hoping that director Jon M. Chu will return, because this one was so super awesome. YO JOE!!!!
